Winter – The Cottonwood Canyons are world renown as having “the Greatest Snow on Earth” averaging in excess of 500 inches of measurable snowfall. The Brighton Resort prides itself as a family-oriented ski destination striving to maintain that traditional “skier-experience” as distinguished from the increasing commercialism commonly prevalent in those larger corporate- owned resorts. The same family has operated the resort since nearly its founding is 1936. In addition, the more venturesome types can easily access extensive out-of-bounds backcountry skiing terrain from the resort or the down-canyon trails.

Summer – The high altitude (nearly 8,750 feet) offers comfortable summer days and cool evenings. The community is adjacent to the Silver Lake Nature Centre; a pristine protected mountain lake surrounded by meadows with a boardwalk around the lake for a leisurely stroll with small children and aging parents. There are a number of high alpine lakes within close proximity and one can easily drive to Park City and access the world-renown Wasatch Crest and Wasatch-back (Park City/Deer Valley) mountain bike trails.

The large outside deck offers expansive space for large outdoor family gatherings. The quaking aspens provide a beautiful privacy screen during the summer and fall seasons. The two large dining tables can be placed together to comfortably seat 20+ persons.

The boulder-strewn natural landscape offers a mix of mature spruce and sub-alpine fir trees, quaking aspens and wildflowers along a mountain stream strewn with abandoned beaver ponds. The willows along the stream are the primary food source for the moose. As an added benefit, the property’s drinking water is sourced from a protected spring high above the property on the face of Mount Millicent. No domestic livestock or pets are allowed in the Canyon to protect the water sources.
